You have the wire hanger
As your sword
I have this winter trench coat
As my shield

This closet isn’t big enough
For the two of us
Although we’ve stayed like this
For many years

I tried my best
To look classy for her
But her eyes wander off
As fast as fads run

So I guess this fight
Is clearly my loss
I can tell she noticed
The crack on my shield

And I know she’s been looking
For a better one
To hang up
And to show off
