Critiquing Her Dry

Dedicated to Cameron Mo

What good

Comes forth

From

Your Midas touch

When you

Can't

Change hearts

To gold?

Unseen Knowledge

Dedicated to Cameron Mo

I have no use for words that can't convey
The indescribable depths
And corners
And corridors
Ventured by few,
But worthwhile for many.

Do you hear the hunger
Of the hallow hallways
Echoing the presence of a lonely voice?
The rumbling of "Help",
Modest, embarrassed;
Loud enough for a
Passerby
To stop and look
For the master, the host
Of this grand, old castle
Nestled in the heart
Of a skyscraper world?

It struggles each day
Against madmen in business
And historians,
Politicians
Who miscalculate its worth.

It's pressured to install
New elevators
And television;
It's scolded and cornered
For its vintage galore.

Its gates stay closed
For the host never hosts
Visits for those
Who choose to ignore;
Those who don't know
Of the castle's insides-

Modern and chic,
A world redefined.

It Was Never Enough

It was never enough,
But it was all of me;
Every little part of me
That was willing to breathe.

How I'd wish to be the cigarette
You'd light every sunset;
How easily you would hold me
And tuck me away.

You'd spend your last dollar,
Your last minute of break,
You'd kiss me every time,
Everywhere, any place.

You'd be happy to spend
Your alone-time with me.

I'd be the only damn thing
Worth your whole day.

Neither

I will never know what it's like
To be the boy
Who girls gossip about,

But I know what it's like
To be the girl
The boy catches within gossip-

And I'd really
Rather
Be neither

Part of Your World

Satellites:
More obedient than stars.
You plant them and they turn,
Spinning 'round your axis,
Doing what you please

Oh please, spare me
'Cause my blood don't rush,
And I don't stutter
When I discover your self-centered
Galaxy of lost-

Lost purpose,
Lost direction,
Just plain old losing of oneself;
Of yourself
And myself
When you just happen to grab and pull me
Into your cloudy
Atmosphere

And constantly,
Consistently
Rain on me;

Hoping so hopelessly
That I'd be that flower
That survives your soil

Hoping you'd have someone
To share your world
While controlling
Every
Aspect
Of hers

So please, spare me
'Cause I got my own planet to run

When Stripped of Disguise

We can repeat our mistakes
As clever as palindromes
Each letter, a detail
Too familiar to quote

Unoriginal, it seems, to
Spell backwards our flaws
For our flaws don't impress;
Nonetheless,
They draw

Weary eyes,
Rolling eyes,
A sea of amused,
Probing eyes

That take pleasure in the way
We hide our demise

We arrange all the lies
To look learned,
To look wise

Yet we look so pathetic
When stripped of disguise

Unpredictably Predictable

Dedicated to Cameron Mo

Let's make our pinkies embrace.
Our thumbs can brush and feel
The warmth of callous.
Imprinting invisible fingerprints;
Making it impossible
To call in evidence
For such
Intentional
Empty promises

Gone. Forever.

2/7/10
Dedicated to Cameron Mo

I'm not sure anymore how it'd be like
To sing in the shower,
Knowing you won't hear me
Knowing you won't be singing along

I hate getting up in the mornings
Because my nights used to be mornings
My mornings, your mornings
And your mornings, my nights

And my nights used to shine
'Cause you were my mornings

And one morning you left
Me alone
To many nights

Of mourning
And mornings
Of sick sunrises
Trying to imitate
Your immortal shine

It Can't Be So Simple

2/4/10
Dedicated to Cameron Mo

Let's take this one
Degree at a time

You know your limits
And I know mine

Spinning on an axis of
Emotional truths
No one can relate or
Analyze our proofs

No one can estimate
What we're going through
No one can guess
Through our fancy clues

Yet all their theories
Presume to conclude

You and I are approaching,
Approaching...

One

Closer and closer,
To tease us to touch

Closer and closer,
But never
Enough
